Finch Pinch Birdhouse - Mahogany veneer is soaked and formed, then wrapped around a locally sourced cedar face. Back is secured using waterproof wood glue and hard wood 'stakes' (hand carved wooden nails) with a hard wood ridge clip and finally hung with a flexible copper wire. Entry hole is 1 3/8" to accommodate small fly catchers such as chickadees, swallows and finch. There is a covered cleanout at the back. Tung oil was applied to protect veneer and cedar and can be reapplied as desired.
Hobbit Hole - Mahogany veneer is soaked and formed, then wrapped around a white washed belly, secured with hardwood posts and pegs. Post and pegs, on either front or back, can be removed and then replaced for seasonal clean out. Veneer is coated with Tung oil for protection from the elements.
